HEART4Victims (HEART) is committed to maintaining the privacy of those who visit our Web site (site), as well as those who contribute funds. HEART does not store social security numbers, credit card numbers, or other highly sensitive information.  HEART honors donor wishes regarding anonymity.

HEART protects your information

HEART uses PCI encryption standards to protect your information. While we use a third party for processing donations, no credit card numbers are stored or kept by HEART once charged. HEART’s databases are password protected and access is limited to only certain individuals in the organization.

This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices HEART uses on its site http://www.heart4victims.org. HEART is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization assisting victims of crime and those who provide services to victims.

Information collection and use

HEART is the sole owner of the information collected from this site. HEART does not send “cookies” to monitor or record site activity. HEART may use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate reporting. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Personal information is only collected as necessary for financial transactions, or as volunteered by visitors to our site. This information may include, but is not limited to, email addresses and survey responses.

Financial transactions

To process a charitable contribution, it may be necessary for HEART to gather the visitor’s name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, and credit card information or ACH information. This information is used to verify identity and execute the financial transaction. Additionally, telephone numbers and email addresses may be used to contact visitors if there is a problem with the transaction.

HEART may use service providers (such as payment gateways and merchant banks) to conduct financial transactions. Personal information is kept private and secure and is not sold, rented, or traded to third parties. Financial transactions are encrypted through a secure server. HEART is Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant.

Right of Erasure

In line with current European Union regulations, you can request that HEART delete any information that you have shared with us at any time. You may arrange for your personal data to be corrected, blocked, or completely deleted at any time. Please send your request to customerservice@heart4victims.org.   

We reserve the right to exchange correspondence with you in this regard. 

Please note that we may be required to retain your personal data in part even after a request for cancellation under the terms of our retention requirements (such as for accounting purposes).  You may object at any time by e-mail to the use of your data by contacting customerservice@heart4victims.org.
